I have prepared a nice dinner with dishes of every type

and I want you to distinguish the healthy ones from junk!

To choose the best among the dishes you’re surely able!

Taste our cookies, chocolates, candies, croissants and toffees,

refreshments, various soft drinks and many types of coffees!

Drink healthy colas sweetened with aspartame,

try some sausage and salami, cut a slice of ham!

 

You’ll be delighted by our burgers, fast food is really grand

savour genetically modified soybean, corn, potato snack!

Here are potato chips, buttery cheese, white spongy bread...

Fill your mouth and close your ears to what others put in your head!

Hey, alien, if you want to save your bacon

take your hands off ham and bacon!

Pick the dishes that will make you healthy,

with the girl, emotionally wealthy!

Fresh and sweet carrots and red tomatoes,

cabbage, lettuce and chicories, and baked potatoes!

Oranges, apples, pears, grapes, figs,

eat without complaining your lentils and your beans!

Eggs, yogurt, milk and low fat cheese

whole grain bread, chicken and fish

and, finally, red meat, but only in small portions.

The choice of right foods really needs great caution!

Life's functions

Trees, flowers, ants, elephants, bees, flies and bacteria

humans, birds, fish, earthworms fulfil life’s criteria

They are living organisms and not abiotic factors.

On our planet’s theatre, they are main actors!

Alien:  

I wonder “what’s a living thing and how is it determined

if one wants to study it and thoroughly observe it?”

To be a living organism, in structure and in actions

you must present the following important life’s functions:

The life functions are explained thoroughly to the alien, who is so fond of Earth and its creatures that he wants to become a human and stay here forever...

Furthermore, he falls in love with a girl...

Your planet fascinated me; I’d like to live here

and your preference for Earth over all other worlds.

In order, though, to stay with me and spend your life here

like human beings you must be, see, taste, smell and hear!

You’ll have to pass five trials, concerning each a function

and every time you do succeed, a system is put into action!

I wish you lots of luck in performing all those labours

because you’re far more interesting than all my friends and neighbours!
